This week for our wine tasting we will have our Classic Beverage Co rep Dan pouring four wines from Southern Italy including two that will be in our March Newsletter. These regions are often overlooked in favor of Tuscany or more well known regions so we are going to fix that. He will be pouring two white wines and two reds, one of which is a new grape even to me! Stop in and find your favorite from 4-7pm!

Cheers,

Sarah

Sallier de la Tour

Inzolia

Reg. $16.99 15% Off $14.44

Looking at the bottle you would never know that this is a delicate, refreshing white wine from Sicily, the glass is way too dark! Inzolia is citrus forward with intense minerality and acidity.

Surrau

“Limizzani” Vermentino

Reg. $23.99 On Sale $16.99

Vermentino is one of my favorite white grapes and is so underappreciated! The Surrau Vermentino is bursting with notes of orange pith, white flowers and melon and has texture and acidity to match.

Surrau

“Naracu” Cannonau

Reg. $23.99 On Sale $16.99

Cannonau is what the Sardinians call Grenache and supposedly is their secret to a long life. While I’m not sure about that I will keep enjoying it! This wine is brighter than Rhone versions of Grenache and has earthy notes that are very decidedly Italian.

Masseria Li Veli

“Askos” Susamaniello

Reg. $25.99 15% Off $22.09

I would say that I am quite familiar with the wines of Puglia and yet I had never heard of this grape before. It is native to Puglia and there are only about 125 acres of it in all of Italy. It reminds me of a Cotes du Rhone with soft tannins, subtle baking spice and berry notes.
