This week my RNDC rep Jen will be pouring an eclectic selection of wines. She will be pouring a *mostly* unoaked Chardonnay from Oregon because I want her to and the other three wines are inspired by conversations I have had with customers. A few weeks ago I poured an Argentinian red blend with Bonarda in it which sparked a chat about this unknown grape. People have been asking to taste Port and Jen is the gal to do it, she has one of the largest Port portfolios in the state. This is a community inspired tasting so stop in and find your favorite from 4-7pm.

Cheers,

Sarah

Stoller

Chardonnay

Reg. $24.99 Sale $19.99

Stoller has the largest contiguous vineyards in the Dundee Hills at a whopping 400 acres, 225 of which are planted to vineyards. Their Chardonnay is done in 82% stainless steel, 9% concrete and only 9% of NEUTRAL oak with some lees stirring for texture but there is no oaky buttery here, just ripe pear, lemon curd, tropical fruits and a slightly herbaceous finish.

Zuccardi

Serie A Bonarda

Reg. $17.99 15% Off $15.29

There are not many Bonardas in the market but Zuccardi is widely regarded as having one of the best examples. Bonarda is late ripening so there are only a few regions with the climate and growing season it needs. It tends to be a bit darker and earthier than Malbec and is fantastic with grilled meats. Zuccardi’s Bonarda is a great example since it is 100% Bonarda with balanced oak aging.

Warre’s

Warrior Ruby Port 375ml

Reg. $14.99 15% Off $12.74

Jen and I tasted 6-8 different Port wines a few weeks ago to decide what we were going to wow you with. We decided on classic examples of the two main types of Port, Ruby and Tawny. The funny thing about Port producers is that they don’t actually like to give you any information about their products. Warre’s is allegedly the oldest brand of Port (they all say that) and their Warrior is a classic Ruby style with brighter red fruit notes and less sweetness than a Tawny.

Taylor Fladgate

10yr Tawny Port

Reg. $35.99 15% Off $30.59

Taylor Fladgate is one of the most iconic Port producers and I was genuinely wowed by their 10yr when I tasted it recently. Tawny Ports are typically aged in wood while Ruby Ports don’t have any oak and the age statements on Tawny Ports refer to a blend with an average age of 10 yrs. Tawny Ports are more toffee, brown sugar, dried fruits and sweeter than Ruby Ports.
